Telecommuting Interview Tips

By Nell Taliercio You’ve made it! Your cover letter and resume got you to the interview process… now what? First of all, I would like to give you a BIG congratulations for making it this far. Pat yourself in the back, do a happy dance. Okay, now let’s get down to business. Not every work at home job will require a telephone interview. Some just hire you from what they see on your cover letter and resume, but you need to be prepared for those dreaded phone interviews. I say dreaded because often the thought of a telephone interview scares people. What you need to realize is that they understand it’s a nerve racking process. So, take a deep breath, and have faith in yourself and your abilities. The most important thing to make the interviewer believe in you as a potential employee is that YOU believe in YOU as a potential employee. Again, the keywords “SELL YOURSELF” come into play. Be friendly and upbeat on the interview, but don’t talk too long or about unimportant things. Don’t give away too much personal information, either. Basically, you just want to answer the questions asked of you. What I would do is really study the job, the requirements, and the company. Then write a “cheat sheet” before the interview to have on hand. Here are some telecommuting interview tips and common questions I’ve run into: Why do you want to work from home? I personally would never say “Because I want to be home with my child”. I think thats an obvious one and most interviewers will figure that that’s a reason. I would say something that would make me look good for telecommuting. Examples include: “I really enjoy working independently, I feel I really shine and thrive when working independently. I want to feel that satisfaction everyday when I’m working” Why are you the best person for the job? SELL YOURSELF! Again, those two important keywords! Listen folks, if you can’t sell yourself to this interviewer, you could lose this job to someone else who sells themselves better. You don’t need to brag, but really delve into why you would be the best for the company and job. Look at the job and company before hand. Jot down reasons why you would be best for the job so that you’re prepared for this question. What your worst quality? Yuck, I hate this question! I could never really come up with a great answer that didn’t sound like an outright lie. You don’t want to really point out your worst quality. Never say “I’m lazy” or “I get distracted easily” or anything that casts you in a bad light. On the other hand, you don’t want to say something that looks like a complete lie like “I’m a workaholic, and I don’t know when to stop”. I don’t see that as a bad quality, and most employers won’t either. They may call you on it and ask you to give them a real answer. Don’ts of Interviewing: Don’t chew gum on an interview. Don’t eat mints or have anything in your mouth. It’s simply not professional, and someone cracking their gum in your ear is very rude and annoying! Don’t eat or drink while on the phone. Make sure you get all of that done before the interview. Be sure to set aside time so that your household is relatively quiet. An employer will understand that you’re looking to work at home and, more then likely, want to be home with your kids so there may be noise from time to time. And they should be okay with that. (If they place a lot of importance on a quiet environment and yours is not quiet, you better pass on this job because you will probably lose the job. Don’t waste your time or theirs if you know it’s not a good fit.) However, if you can’t even take this interview seriously enough to devote yourself 100% to it, then you may lose the job because of it. The interviewer wants to know that they are the most important thing during the interview. The dogs barking, kids yelling, and you interrupting to quiet the house is not professional for business. Don’t go on and on about how much you want this job and how badly you need to get this job. It’s a given that you want the job or you wouldn’t be interviewing, and it’s a given you need the job. The only time I would bring up that you want the job is when they ask you something like “Why do you want to work with us?” Then you can express why you want to work with the company. Don’t say anything like “You can’t even imagine how bad I need this job” or “I really want this job; it would be perfect for me.” The employer needs to know why they would benefit from you working with them. They want to hear the word you more often than me. If you would like more tips for interviews and examples of questions, head over to www.mommysplace.net and once there visit the Interview Center. Where To Meet Women - Three Places You Must Go To Meet Women

By Derek Rake Have you ever resorted to staying home on a Friday or Saturday night to play with your cat? If so, you need to learn where to meet women and you need to learn it fast! It may seem like the world is filled with men when you are a single guy looking for a date. But don’t get discouraged - members of the opposite sex can be found in more places than you think. We’re going to discuss three places you must go to meet women. Where you meet a woman is very important if you are looking for a quality partner. You want to meet someone who shares similar hobbies and interests. This way you will have something in common right from the start. Here’s one idea - choose to take a class in an area that you find enjoyable. Learn that new hobby you were always fascinated with as a kid or brush up on your current skills in any field you like. Women are attracted to men who are well-rounded and it will be very easy to strike up a conversation in the fun, relaxing atmosphere of a class. Another idea on where to meet women involves hitting the singles bar as often as possible. Women in the singles bars are most probably there to meet that special someone. Given that meeting women is a numbers game, why not congregate where many of them tend to hang out just waiting to meet someone like you. The loud music, dark lights and sexy atmosphere will also help to further increase your odds. Last but not least, devote more time to hanging around a college, university or library. Women are attracted to men who are well educated and informed. You will not only learn some facts to impress members of the opposite sex, but also find great opportunities to meet women while doing it. Just look at the current reality show, Beauty and the Geek, and you will see that more and more women are looking for a man who is not just a pretty face. As you can see, it’s fairly easy to know where to meet women once you set your mind to it. Take up an interesting hobby or join a class where you have a great chance of meeting women with similar interests. Better yet, hit the singles bars or spend more time in an educational institution or library. Whatever method you choose, just make sure you get out and interact with people as much as possible. The woman of your dreams may be just around the corner. Benefits of Carotene (Beta Carotene) as a Dietary Supplement

By Joyce Dietzel The beta-carotene is in fact famous for the help it gives to human’s body. One of the most known claims for beta-carotene is that it prevents cancer and heart disease and can boost our immune system. Beta Carotene is plentiful in vegetables and fruits. The 600 carotenoids are important for our health and is found in yellow, red, and deep green vegetables and fruits. Studies shows however that taking supplements for a long duration may in fact cause harm, such as the damage to our liver or increased risk of cancer which can determined only by long, large, well-designed studies. Large amount of Beta Carotene however can turn your skin slightly yellow or orange-, which is in fact harmless. Beta-carotene is an antioxidant. Antioxidants help deactivate free radicals, unstable molecules that are by products of cells “burning” oxygen for energy. Free radicals can in fact damage the basic structure of cells and therefore leading to chronic diseases, such as cancer and heart diseases. In addition, it can accelerate the aging process. However, smokers should not take this the pill of beta-carotene because studies show that smokers have an increase of the risk of lung cancer when they take beta-carotene pills. According to studies, taking Beta Carotene even not on high dose actually has a higher rate of developing lung cancer and higher mortality rate than those taking a placebo. However, the risk is only for smokers who smoked more than a pack per day and who drank more than the average amount of alcohol. Therefore, the moral lesson here is: Do not think that any supplements “can’t hurt, might help” or that antioxidants are always beneficial. There is a delicate balance of antioxidants and free radicals in our body. Smoking was a complicating factor with beta carotene but who knows what factor such as sun exposure, alcohol, medication, intense exercise might make supplement X< Y and Z dangerous? Don’t Smoke Don’t take Beta Carotene Pills if you smoke or if you are a former smoker, or if you are a heavy drinker. Eat a lot of fruits and vitamins- Even if you do not smoke, it is much better to obtain beta-carotene from foods not from the pills. There are no any evidence that beta carotene in foods can cause any danger Beta Carotene is one of the orange dyes that are found in most green leaves and in carrots. Beta Carotene is a member of family of molecules called carotenoides. Beta Carotene is made up of eight isoprene units, which are cyclised at each end. Beta Carotene is the pigment that gives carrots, sweet potatoes and other yellow vegetables their yellow coloring. Beta Carotene is also used as a colorant in margarine because the absence of it would only make margarine white. Almost all beta-carotene in supplements are synthetic consisting of only one molecule that is called all Trans beta-carotene. Natural beta-carotene found in foods is made up of two molecules - all Trans beta-carotene and 9-cis-beta-carotene. Beta Carotene s the most potent precursor to vitamin A, but its conversion to vitamin A in the body is limited by a feedback system. Beta-carotene has two roles in our body. It can indeed be converted into vitamin A if the body needs more of the vitamin. In addition, beta-carotene acts as antioxidants, which protect cells from damage caused by harmful free radicals. The richest sources of beta carotene are yellow, orange, and green leafy fruits and vegetables such as carrots, spinach, lettuce, tomatoes, sweet potatoes, broccoli, cantaloupe, and winter squash to name a few. The more intense the green, yellow or orange color is, the more beta-carotene it possess. Cooking makes it easier for beta-carotene to be fully too absorbed by the body does not destroy beta Carotene. Research shows that diets that are low in beta-carotene and carotenoids can increase the body vulnerability to damage from free radicals. As a result, long-term diets with low in beta-carotene may increase tissue damage from free radical activity and increase risk of chronic disease and cancer. Low in beta-carotene may also lead to the reduction of the effectiveness of the immune system. http://www.for-your-vitamins.com/ Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Joyce_Dietzel http://EzineArticles.com/?Benefits-of-Carotene-(Beta-Carotene)-as-a-Dietary-Supplement&id=183128 money lender offices unsecured business loans no fax required payday loan riverside hard money loan

Angels Named Michael?

By Michael Webbametto Michael is a very famous name. Think about it. How many famous Michael’s can you think of? The first one I think of is the Archangel Michael. I’m no Biblical scholar, but I do remember that one. And isn’t there something about “Michael rowed the boat ashore?” Alleluia! Most of us learned that tune in Sunday school years and years ago. So Michael is a famous name in the Bible. Michelangelo is actually the same name. It’s just a little longer. You probably noticed that there are two parts to it. It means “Michael Angel.” His paintings were certainly angelic, and his sculptures were, too. He’s the one who painted the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel and carved David out of a stone. People from all over the world travel to see his famous artworks. Lately, we’ve heard a lot about a Michael who’s both famous and infamous. Michael Jackson? Now there’s a story. Are you old enough to remember the Jackson 5? Or the cartoon of them that came later? The boy was talented that’s for sure. His trials were headline news for a long time a while back, but that’s all over now. I hope everyone involved can find some peace. Maybe angels are watching over them. In sports, there’s Michael Jordan. Basketball, right? There are a lot of famous actors named Michael. Michael Douglas is one of my favorites. I thought he was so romantic in those movies back when. Do you remember, “Romancing the Stone?” Wasn’t there a John Travolta movie where he played an angel? Was his name Michael? In the not-so-famous realms, we have all known someone named Michael. I can probably think of someone named Michael from nearly every class in school from first grade on up. And there have been times in my life when there were so many Michaels, that we called them by their last names so we didn’t get confused. I can think of 5 or 6 Michaels that I know right now! Famous or not, Michael is a good name. Some of them are angels. Michael Webbametto always found himself surrounded by others with the same first name. Finally, he decided to create a website in honor of all Michael s. Mobile Mania

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=V_Ramasamy]V Ramasamy Technology development has revolutionized India, particularly in the field of communication. Internet, e-mail & mobile phones are making peoples life easier. Among this, mobile phones have become a mania in India. Here are the few actions of mobile users to support this statement. If you had keenly watched mobile users, you would have noticed that whether they receive any call or not, yet they used to take out the mobile from their pocket, switch it on and stare at the screen for a while and put it near their ear and again stare at the screen for a while before switching it off and put it back in their pocket again. I am really amazed to see the frequency of the action almost every fifteen minutes. Yes, Indian mobile users love to flaunt their mobile in the public. No mater how important you are. No matter what important matter you are discussing with the mobile user, his/her attention always drawn towards the call received in their mobile. The moment they receive the call, they never hesitate to abandon you in the middle to attend their call. Once the call is over, you have to begin your discussion from the beginning, as she/he would be in a state of trance after attending the call. Here is a lesson, if you want to be listened properly, try to talk in mobile phone next time. Employers are the happiest lot to have mobile phones as it helps them to track their employees all the time. On the other day when I was traveling in the bus, one passenger sitting next to me, a mobile in his hand, giving almost a running commentary about his journey by giving exact details of each stop, where he is now and when he would reach a particular point. I presumed that probably he might be speaking to his boss (!). Mobile users also dont have any etiquette. Once I was attending a condolence meeting. Large people gathered at a big hall. The whole atmosphere was very calm and serene. At the middle of the crowd a middle aged man who was sitting silently for a long, suddenly stood up as if he was bitten by some insect and looked around the hall in a hurry. After few seconds, he was started running to the corner of the hall. I was totally stunned to see his action. Since the meeting was on, I controlled my curiosity. Once the meeting was over I asked the person about his erratic behaviour. Without any embarrassment in his face, he told me casually that he just attended the telephone call in his mobile (!) While walking on the road, if you happened to see motorcycle riders with their head bent towards their shoulders; dont think that they are handicapped. Probably they may be attending their mobile call by holding the mobile set between their head and shoulders (!) People are in the habit of noticing you only if you have a mobile phone. If anybody asks you what is your mobile number, if you say you have only landline, he/she will stare at you as if you have come from some tribal area (!) Academic Catalogs Very Misleading

By Lance Winslow Have you ever picked up an academic catalog of classes or went to a website to see what your local college or University Offered in the way of classes? Most of us have seen these things and the classes appear to be absolutely intriguing but much of that is the fine art of public relations and marketing writing and not the reality of the class at all. It is truly amazing that this false and misleading advertising goes on in Academia, because they so often with their liberal views are so quick to point out even possible misrepresentation in the business world or even a politician who deliberately misleads his or her constituency. It seems that we have quite a hypocritical group in our colleges and universities who are willing to mislead people to get them to sign up for their schools. We seem to all believe that academia is beyond reproach yet as we observe closer they are the cause of many of our Nations ills and much of the conflicts in our civilization. It also is quite relevant to point out that much of the sound and fury incited by the mass media indeed originates in the Utopian Dreamland of Academia. But why you ask? Well it is really simple, you see those who cant so often teach, as they do not have the balls to face the music in the real world. So they retreat into academia where they are safe to complain and piss and moan about anything they see, when they simply have adopted a skewed perspective of things, which is probably why they never succeeded in the first place. But in the end they do the very thing they complain about as they cheat to hold up their decaying institutions of brain washing. Quite interesting isnt it? Biblical Hermeneutics - Part 1

By Saundra L. Washington Hermeneutics is the science and art of the interpretive process which begins by determining the original meaning of the Biblical text and leads to elucidation of its sense for the body of Christ today. It is concerned with the presuppositions that are brought to the interpretation of texts because it consciously or unconsciously influences conclusions drawn. Presuppositions are the philosophical or theological starting points of reference which are usually shared by someone else. It differs from prejudice in that prejudice includes more personal factors that affect the judgment of the interpreter. The problem of Biblical authority would probably be less bothersome if we were able to approach the Bible unbiasly. Unfortunately, this is not possible. Therefore, we come with our mental baggage that is packed with previous involvement with Scripture which prejudice our reaction to the periscope under consideration. The result is, oftentimes, only an interpretation that mirrors our biases. Even though it is humanly impossible to interpret presupposition-lessly, there are safeguards we can use in the interpretive process that minimizes pure subjectivity and interjecting into text our own preconceived ideas. They are: 1) Awareness of the presupposition problem. 2) Use of the historical-critical method of interpretation helps to keep theological presuppositions in check. 3) Methods must be open to constant modification by the text itself. 4) Method must be open to investigation, evaluation and so forth. 5) Presuppositions must be allowed to be shaped or discarded. Exegesis guided by rigid pre-understanding only establishes what the interpreter already knows. When Scripture is rendered supreme, the text will interpret the interpreter as the interpreter interprets the text. Interpretation therefore, necessitates dialogue with Scripture. I think very few of us are cognizant of the extent to which our responses to Scripture are conditioned by a previously chosen orientation toward the church in general and toward Scripture in particular. These orientations, apparently for purposes of identification, are grouped under certain titles. Two of the broadest and, no doubt, misunderstood classifications are liberal and conservative. The typical liberal view of the inspiration of Scripture is that the Biblical writers were inspired in somewhat the same sense as Shakespeare and other great writers. What the writers transcribed were ancient religious conceptions about God and His workings. Liberals believe that Scripture is inerrant where it speaks on soteriological matters, but that it may possess errors in historical facts and other details. The conservative view of the inspiration is that God worked through the personalities of the Biblical writers in such a way that, without suspending their personal styles of expression of freedom, what they produced was literally inspired. The emphasis of the text is that Scripture itself, as well as the authors, was inspired. Of course there are those within each camp whose view of inspiration varies from the generally accepted. Both orientations also have their own strengths and weaknesses. The strengths of the liberal position has been said to include the fact that they are not embarrassed by negative phenomena found in Scripture; no claim is made regarding Biblical inerrancy and so there is no need to deal with it; and since they do not believe texts are infallible, the do not have to be bothered with issues pertaining to canonicity of Scripture; and finally, liberals need not suspend their critical faculties when studying Scripture. The weaknesses of this position are said to be located in its tendency to dilute the inspiration and authority of Scripture in a significant way. It places overemphasis on human reason; if Biblical claims cannot be grasped by human reason, it is unacceptable. Another weakness lies in the idea of progressive revelation. Liberals believe that as man developed mentally and spiritually, later divine revelation was superior to earlier ones. Thus, religious experience becomes the foundation for deciding divine inspiration. A further difficulty with this view is that it allows room to call into question or disallow all of the miraculous in Scripture. Two outstanding strengths of the conservative view proposed are: 1) they take the Bible seriously as the only authority for life and the Christian faith; and ; 2) conservatives are serious about the actual texts of the Bible. Some of the weaknesses found in this view include: conservatives refusal to acknowledge obvious Biblical errors; the failure to see inconsistencies between any two scriptural passages; the proclivity to dislocate the true center of concern; the hermeneutical principles that guide them are extra-Biblical; and their harmonization process is flawed. Achtemeier (Contemporary Theology) proposes another view of inspiration. He sees it as being located more in the interrelationship of tradition, situation, and respondent contained in Scripture rather than located in Scripture itself or the Biblical authors. Whatever view one holds is important to hermeneutics. If we hold a liberal view of inspiration for example, it would probably be difficult, if not impossible, to not approach Scripture with the presupposition Scripture contains errors. Thus, if we encounter apparent discrepancies, we may decide that one or both of the pages involved contain mistakes. Likewise, as a conservative, we may be inclined to find an exegetically justifiable way of resolving the seeming discrepancy rather than entertain an erroneous possibility. (to be continued) Rev. Treatment - Pharmaceutical or Holistic?

By Patricia Howitt All treatment based on pharmaceutical products proceeds from the study and treatment of symptoms, categorised pretty much in isolation as evidence of separate “diseases”. Western medicine has built a vast repertory of observed symptoms, and a vast array of unnatural products tailored by chemical companies to prevent these symptoms from manifesting. We even have comparatively simple conditions, like heartburn, being labelled as “diseases” to bring them within the scope of the prescription drugs industry. The word cure is a misnomer when applied to drugs and disease. Drugs suppress symptoms, which are the body’s way of ridding itself of underlying illness. This drives the problem deeper into the tissues for the cells to cope with in some other way, which leads to big trouble at a later date. Drugs may offer a “quick fix”, but the price paid in side effects and long-term illness is enormous, affecting both quality and length of life. Published causes of death statistics are many and varied. You will never find among them a figure for the thousands of people whose lifespan and quality of life are slowly destroyed by pharmaceutical drugs. When their lives end, cause of death is simply recorded as the disease they were being treated for, or one of its side effects. What Holistic Really Means While modern western medicine excels at treating emergencies and injury, it has lost the plot completely when it comes to treating illness and disease. All disease manifestations are the result of the same basic “dis-ease” condition of the body. In reality, before the rise of drugs, many natural treatments were used successfully for centuries to set the body’s chemistry to rights. These methods were intended to restore the bodys correct pH, supply the nutrients required to correct the underlying imbalance in the body tissues, return the body to proper health, and so enable it to deal with whatever symptoms were present. The “diseases” mindset obscures the fact that all symptoms are manifestations of an underlying defective condition of the whole body caused by - Inadequate nutrition resulting in a weakened body structure (at both tissue and cellular levels) and decreased immune function; and External factors such as toxins and stress. It is true that the body has countless ways of manifesting sickness. The reason diseases seem so many and varied is because - Each body breaks down at its weakest link - and in each individual that weakest link will be determined by heredity (genetic factors) and nutrition (eating habits); Each individual experiences toxins or stresses peculiar to his or her own lifestyle (e.g. cigarette smoke, asbestos fibers, timber treatment chemicals or whatever). These toxins and stresses can produce different effects on the system. When one realises that our categorized diseases are simply varied manifestations of an imbalance in the body chemistry, it becomes easier to understand what holistic medicine and treatment is about. Body pH and Organic Nutrients Body pH is the indicator of the acid-alkaline condition of the blood. It is the most important single factor to be corrected before healing can proceed. This can be achieved in a number of ways, but primarily by avoiding acid-producing foods, correcting mineral deficiencies, and supplying the correct balance of healthy foods. The following foods are the worst culprits in producing acid reactions in the body and are the cause of much illness and disease in the western world: white flour, white sugar, common salt, soft drinks, artificial colorings and flavourings, over-consumption of red meat and animal fats, hydrogenated fats, deep-fried fats, alcohol, and cigarette smoking. Consider the average western diet and you will realise why illness and disease are rampant killers in the west, where many people’s daily food consumption comprises almost exclusively the above products. Consider also that in many third-world countries the introduction of the western diet has been followed by a rising incidence of western disease. Rebuilding and Healing The holistic approach to healing starts by avoiding all foods that produce acid conditions in the body. Many of these foods are so lacking in nutritive value that they deplete the bodys vitamins, minerals and enzymes. The body has to dig into its own store to find the elements necessary for digestion, and very often, because of the poor state of our food today, that store has reached rock bottom. In supplying what our bodies really need for the rebuilding and healing processes, the prime consideration is usability. Minerals are the bodys ground-floor building blocks and recent research now shows that mineral supplements MUST be supplied in a form the body can utilise. This is not found in pulverized rock, or in colloidal minerals. In both of these, the particle size is simply too large for our cells to utilise efficiently. The maximum our cells can derive from these sources is about 3%. The unused residue of these minerals is dumped somewhere in the system, where it adds to the burden the body is already carrying. What our cells really need is organic (i.e. angstrom sized) minerals - because these are what the body was designed to use. The organic, angstrom particle size is actually 10,000 times smaller than a micron. Minerals in plants and fruits are naturally angstrom sized, and this is the reason why so many of today’s natural plant formulations are helping people with health problems. You will notice that all of these natural products have one element in common they are not the end product of our modern agricultural systems. This is because the depleted nature of our agricultural soils can no longer provide the minerals and trace minerals our bodies need in the quality and proportions they were designed for. Without a single exception, all of these new products are derived either from the sea, or from virgin soils that still retain their life-giving nutrients. This is a huge lesson that we need to learn, and learn quickly. Unnatural chemicals are destroying our world, and they are destroying us. Depression and Society

By John Furnem Many of the people we know and meet every day have experienced some kind of depression in their lives, it is not always the clinical and sever depression that we understand to be very dangerous and naturally dramatic in life events, a lot of people experience mild and sometimes passing phases of depression. The understanding of how difficult it is to deal with depression once it hits is usually a part that is played only by those unfortunate enough to experience this mental condition, once a person realizes the effect a depression might have on a person they will immediately show great sympathy to anyone who is suffering any symptoms related to depression. In our day and age it is very common to refer to medicine in almost any case of discomfort or disease, our society nurtures the feeling that for every physical or mental condition or disorder there is a chemical answer that sets things right, and that the materialism of human nature is once that takes care of itself. The case with depression is different, not saying that depression is not treated by medicine because it has been treated with many different kind of chemical solutions for the last few decades, but there are more ways to fight and beat depression, and many of these ways are not medicine related. Many of the people who suffer depression in one part of their lives realize that this is a kind of condition that might return and hit them in later stages in life, this understanding makes depression patients seek answers that will have a significant effect throughout a long period of time. This is typical of people who suffered mild depression symptoms and overcame the depression with some psychological help and a lot of self work and efforts. Many want to keep living their life with a feeling that a non medical solution is available to keep depression from hitting again. Help for depression is widely available in most of the world, the awareness to the dangers and destructive power of depression disorders have increased the efforts to help depression patients fight this condition, from traditional therapy to many new and modern approaches to physical activity and social connections, solutions that have been showing fairly good results in many cases and encourage depression patients to keep working on depression prevention instead of relaying on the easy use of chemicals. The fact that depression can, in some mild and not clinical severe, be beaten and prevented on a regular basis using therapy and social connections, as well as physical exercise and workout routine, is very comforting for the many people who suffer mild depression around the world and that are not interested in developing any kind of dependency on chemicals and medicines for mental conditions. It is also said that the fact that depression patients are kept on a regular treatment and are aware of the reoccurring nature of depression phases is helping prevent and decrease the level of the depression frequency. Healing With Color FAQ

By D.S. Braun Can Color Therapy Be Used With Other Healing Techniques? Yes, color and crystal therapy combine very very well - as does color therapy with reflexology. You can learn more of this by reading additional articles at AkobiAromas.com under Reflexology, Crystals and Color at the Article Archive. What is an Aura? By definition the aura is the energy field or Life Force that surrounds, encompasses and permeates all living things. The human aura is similar to a force field protecting and vitalizing every cell and organ of the body. This glowing energy has been called an electric blueprint. The Shape of the Aura or the Color/s in the Aura are they Important? The auras spiraling color vibration field can be seen, felt, and interpreted in an aura reading. Should the color or colors in the aura need healing, an aura healing can take place, bringing the aura into balance. A well-balanced aura should be balanced all the way around, with the color or colors and their stability (i.e., whether there are any breaks, gaps, or holes as well as the intensity of the color) being carefully noted. An example; when a murky color is present the aura is out of balance, this is when an aura healing would be helpful. Can we See the Aura? There are very few who are gifted to see the aura, however modern day technology allows us to photograph the aura in all its glorious color. An aura camera provides a visual image of how you are functioning mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. This allows an aura specialist to give an aura reading and then if needed perform an aura healing. What are Chakras? The human body comprises many energy systems and etheric structures, the most important of which are the chakras. There are seven major chakras that run along the main vertical line of the body. Chakras regulate the flow of consciousness into and from the body. Chakras relate to all levels of human life - emotional, physical, mental and spiritual Why Color Healing? The history of color healing goes back over 5,000 years, from the ancient Egyptians, Chinese, Native American’s, and Tibetans to present day practitioners and healers. The ancient Egyptians wore amulets of colored stones. They wore red to treat diseases and building strength, yellow to create happiness, and green to increase fertility. Today we use blue light on newborn babies with jaundice in our hospitals. We know that some prisons use pink rooms to calm the more violent criminal. Also, many police stations use blue rooms for their interrogations, as the suspect is more apt to tell the truth in a blue room. Why Color Healing? It is a safe nontoxic alternative for healing. It Beats Drugs!! Color Therapy What Is It? Color Therapy is simple. It consists of applied color or colors and their vibrations to heal. Treatment modalities include; o Shining color lights on a person. o Being in a room painted (or lighted) in a particular color. o Wearing certain colored clothes. o Imagining colors shining upon you, while meditating or praying. o Eating fruits and vegetables of certain colors. o Wearing Color Therapy glasses. The eyes convert light (color) into a kind of energy, which travels through our nervous system, and affects all body functions. Studies have shown that when color is introduced to the human system it causes cellular and hormonal changes. This can bring the cells into synchronization or balance. Color Therapy eye wear is one method of using color. As the color enters the eye it is directed to the hypothalamus gland. It then goes to the pineal gland, which directs it to the pituitary gland. The pituitary governs and regulates hormone production. The brain processes this information, which causes the cellular and hormonal changes to occur. How Does Color Work? Each color vibrates at a specific, individual frequency, as do the glands and organs of the body. Each color corresponds to a specific area of the body. Color vibrates true to frequency. It never deviates. Color is like a vitamin. If you had a vitamin C deficiency you would increase your intake of vitamin C. If you had an excess of vitamin C then you would decrease your intake of vitamin C. Color works the same way. As an example, if you need to lose weight, then increase the color blue in your life. Do you get migraine headaches? Then increase the color red or indigo in your life. What about depression? You can decrease the color indigo. You can positively effect many areas of your life and health, through Color and Color Therapy. Chakras & Chakra Healing? The Sanskrit word chakra literally means wheel or “circle”. It is maintained that within the human body is a huge column of moving energy. It is made up of three main channels, which whirl like brightly colored flowers from the top of the head, to the base of the spine. Where the channels intersect, energy wheels or centers are formed. These are referred to as the chakras. The term Chakra is the most frequently used and descriptive word for the energy points or whirls of energy that exists within in the human body. We have seven vital chakras (as well as secondary or lesser chakras) located just to the front of the spinal column. The chakras are part of the bodys auric energy, and control the inflow and outflow of the life force, also known as Chi, and Vital Force. Each chakra vibrates to a specific color, and each color has both a positive and a challenging meaning.
